TIMELINE
A lot has happened from now until the year 2084 and there have been many unexpected twists and turns.
2020-2040
A NEW PATH
Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, humanity had a thirst for change. Major developments occurred including the development of predictive technology. This included the app Life Path and the foundation of the Global Mind Project, which was used to predict catastrophic weather events. When one of these events happened in the form of the Colossus Storms, everyone got serious about climate change. Wars and famine came out of the storms, but there was a global shift in thinking and a move towards a Paradesian worldview.
2040-2060
POWER SHIFTS
Near the beginning of the 2040s, the Global Mind Project fell apart after widespread distrust of its data collection. This era was one of uncertainty, but also one of world-changing advancements. It is in this span that we saw the introduction of the Fold, the popular acceptance of Futures cryptocurrency, the construction of space elevators, and the establishment of the first permanent domiciles on the Moon. We almost entered World War III because of the Congolese Conflict, a proxy war between China and other world powers, but it was avoided and the world economy boomed.
2060-2084
RUSH TO THE STARS
This is the era of mass space exploration, colonization, and resource extraction. The biggest industry is now asteroid mining. This is done primarily through virt mining, where mining drones are controlled by the minds of people put into comas. In addition to this, new settlements have been established on the atmosphere of Venus and on the surface of Mars. The Earth’s climate has relatively stabilized, as has its powers. But a new technology called the MESH threatens the plans of the powers-that-be.
2084+
FUTURE FATIGUE
Our web series explores the year 2084 specifically and the events that brought us to this particular moment of time. But in the year 2084 much of developed society works inside of sophisticated virtual reality systems that map out the future in hyper real detail. The result is that all of humanity is busy building out a detailed vision of the future, the question is, will the plan match with reality?
